Arthritis slowing you down?
For patients suffering the pain of arthritis but wishing to avoid surgery or are unable to have surgery, we may be able to alleviate your pain in a minimally invasive fashion: joint embolization.
Embolization for pain relief has been most extensively studied for knee arthritis (genicular artery embolization). Other joints such as the shoulder and elbow can respond, too.
If you are suffering from arthritic pain, have failed medical therapy and joint injections, and cannot have surgery or want to avoid surgery, ask your doctor to refer you to our Interventional Radiologists to be evaluated for embolization. They can do this by calling IR scheduling at 210.616.7780.
The procedure is performed with light sedation and patients go home the same day.
